About RCS3 Custom Rods

seperator

R.C. Schreider III was raised by fanatical fishermen. He started fishing before he could walk and he has been obsessed with fishing ever since!

Rudy moved to Colorado in 1976. He built his first Sage 490 RPL in 1986 for himself as a way to save money. His second rod was a Sage 286 RPL+ built the following year. Rudy has built many rods for friends and family throughout the years as gifts. He started building rods for charitable raffles in 2011 and has donated rods to Trout Unlimited and Outdoor Lab Foundation. He has built upwards of 300 rods. He started RCS3 Custom rods as a way to get some return on investment for all the money spent in equipment to build rods!

Rudy has built rods with 5 different thread colors, intricate custom grips and handmade reel seats, but his preference is for perfection in simplicity. He is able to build rods for every angler and every fishing type. No rod is turned over to a customer before it has been fully tested and he has caught a fish on it.

Rudy lives in Centennial, CO with his wife, Janette, and his three sons. He was a Trout Unlimited Cherry Creek Anglers chapter president and Youth Coordinator for 7 years and is a current member of Fly Fisher International.
